I hope and pray that you and the children are well and are keeping safe.
“Attached”, you will find the Re-Opening Plan for Immaculate Conception Catholic Academy. The plan, approved by the Office of Catholic Education, Diocese of Brooklyn, following all the protocols issued over the last month and a half by the New York State Department of Education and the New York State Department of Health, was submitted to both Departments last Thursday.
I thank several parents, Board members and other administrators for their guidance in the development of the plan, which I believe, is a very comprehensive plan for the Academy.
I realize there have been many questions and concerns raised about the opening of our Academy. I hope your questions and concerns will be answered after reading through the plan. However, I plan to hold ZOOM meetings for parents/guardians according to the following schedule:
For Parents/Guardians with students in:
Nursery through Grade 1: Tuesday, August 18th at 6:30 pm
Grade 2 through Grade 4: Wednesday, August 19th at 6:30 pm
Grade 5 through Grade 8: Thursday, August 20th at 6:30 pm
(If you are not able to participate in the assigned group meeting, please email the office so that we can accommodate you in another group)
The ZOOM meeting sign-on information will be sent to you the day before the scheduled meeting.
As you already l know, we are planning to be fully open with all protocols in place: social distancing, face coverings, proper hand hygiene, temperature reading and tracing, etc. We believe the current size of our classes and our large school building more than adequately meets all the required protocols for a safe re-opening for students, teachers and staff.
Thank you for your patience and understanding. Each morning at my daily Mass and prayers I continually pray for the ICCA community – students, parents/guardians, teachers and staff. Continue to stay healthy and safe!
Brother Joseph Rocco, sc, Ed.D
