Home Academy Association

Mission

The Immaculate Conception Catholic Academy Home Academy Association (HAA) is a group of dedicated parents, staff and teachers working with the Principal and Board of Trustees together to support and enrich the educational endeavors of the Academy.

Through volunteer and fundraising efforts, HAA members initiate and support Academy Spirit events and share Academy experiences with New Families seeking to join our Academy.

The HAA is a great way to support Immaculate Conception Catholic Academy students and our community.

“Alone we can do little. Together we can do so much.” (Helen Keller)

Meetings

HAA and Class Parent meetings occur the second Tuesday of every month (in person / Zoom) unless otherwise indicated.

Volunteer Opportunities

Many events at Immaculate Conception Catholic Academy depend on our parent and extended family volunteers. Over the course of the school year, volunteers may be needed during school hours, as well as outside the academic day, to help organize and staff our various fundraisers and special events:

NOTE: The diocese requires all parents who help at the school be VIRTUS trained. The VIRTUS workshop is designed to give adults a greater awareness of their role in helping to protect children. If you are not VIRTUS trained you need to attend a workshop.  Please go to www.virtusonline.org to locate and register for a workshop. Remember to select Immaculate Conception Catholic Academy in Astoria as your source so the school gets updated on your training. You will need to be VIRTUS trained in order to participant in any Academy events where children are present.

Fundraising

To help keep tuition increases at a modest level, Immaculate Conception Catholic Academy (IMMAC) and HAA urge you to check our 2023 - 2024 Calendar of Events page below.  Here you will find a variety of special events which you and your family and friends will enjoy!!  These events throughout the school year help to supplement the Academy’s income.

These events not only raise monies to help the school , but also:

  • Provide school spirit
  • Provide a social aspect that allow Academy families and others (friends, neighbors, alumni, and local businesses) to get together
  • Involve our community
  • Provide fun all year long!

Below is a list of upcoming fundraising endeavors and special events. We invite you to mark your calendars and be assured that we greatly appreciate your support, generosity and cooperation in our fundraising efforts.

In addition to our fundraisers and optional special events, ICCA offers you the opportunity to contribute in many different ways. See the list below for more information.

Dress Down for Charity Days

Each month, ICCA offers our students the opportunity to have some fun and do some good. Students who donate to the “Charity of the Month” can ‘dress down’ for the day and not wear his/her school uniform. We want the students to learn that a small sacrifice on our part can benefit people whose need is much greater than ours. Each month we will make an announcement regarding the “Dress Down for Charity” day, the charity chosen, as well as let you know how much money was collected and donated the previous month.

Matching Gift Program

Matching gifts can double—or even triple—the value of your gift to ICCA. Many companies will match their employees’ charitable donations and some companies even match gifts made by retirees and/or spouses. A matching gift is an excellent way to increase the impact of your generosity.

How to Double your Donation in Three Easy Steps:

  1. Make a donation to Immaculate Conception Catholic Academy and make sure to keep your receipt. Many corporate matching gifts programs will give you up to one year after your donation to make a gift.
  2. Contact your HR department to find out if it has a corporate matching gift program.
  3. Send your completed form to ICCA and we’ll do the rest:
